Colleen's love for making art began when she was around seven years old. The smell of new crayons or the gift of a pan of fresh watercolors filled her with delight. But way back in the 60's, the grownups told her that being an artist was not a practical way to live. So she set that dream aside and became a hairstylist, a bodybuilder, a wife, a mother, a cub scout leader, a personal fitness trainer, and a life coach.
When her children eventually took wing, she decided it was time to dust off those crayons, buy some fresh paint, and some big canvases.
These days, she spends her time drawing, taking photographs, painting, and traveling with her husband of 30 years. Nature is her constant source of inspiration. Her art reflects her love of the earth and all it's creatures. Colleen enjoys learning to use all of the art materials and mediums available today, while acrylics, watercolor and pretty paper are her personal favorites.
Nothing brings her greater joy and satisfaction than knowing her art has opened someone's mind and heart to nature. She greets each day with humor, curiosity, compassion, and wonder.
