Gathering inspiration on a hike through the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Hello friend! I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Colleen… artist, kindness cultivator, and nature nut.

I was born in the Pacific Northwest, my forever home. Big trees, birds, blue sky, and saltwater! In past lives, I've been a hair stylist, fitness trainer, wellness coach, and life coach. You can also toss in bodybuilder, ballet dancer, floral designer, Cub Scout leader, wife of 39 years, and mom to two grown sons!

Art is something I've loved all my life. Making a living from it wasn't encouraged when I was choosing my first career, so artfully arranging people's hair was my second choice. There's never been a time when I wasn't painting, crafting, or making something. I'm very curious but not very patient. I prefer to have long, one-to-one conversations balanced with lots of time alone in my studio. I don’t like crowds, loud music, traffic, and being late. Walks in the forest, layers of color and contrast, pretty paper, piles of old books, birdsong, and friends who make me laugh… those are my treasures!

As my sons grew up and moved out into the big world, I found I had a lot of extra time on my hands. It was time to dust off those art supplies I’d been hanging onto and try some new things! Little did I know, there was a whole world of color just waiting for me to sink my hands into!

Being an artist has provided so many new opportunities and challenges. I've taken wonderful courses and met fellow artists from all over the world! I've painted lots of big canvases, learned to make my own prints and cards, sold my work at art walks and festivals, and published two children's books,

Light as a Feather!

Curiosity can lead you into lots of mischief!

I hope to pass on some of the skills I've learned by teaching, sharing, and offering inspiration to others who might be just a little curious themselves. More than anything, I love guiding people back to their creative path. I’ve come to discover that when people are doing more of what they love, they’re happier. And when people are happier, they tend to be kinder too. And the world can always use more kindness.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for all the ways you encourage and inspire me every day!

XO, Colleen
